Hello,

is it standard for dentists to use rubber dams when placing dental posts?

my next question is, if it is standard, and the dentist doesn’t do this, should I ask that he does?

Oh sorry, I believe it’s a post and core (the dentist just called it a post). it will go in the root canal tooth to keep it secure I guess?

Thanks. In that case, no it isn't routine to use rubber dam for that.
