Dentist said damage was moderate, x ray fine? What next?

My dentist has said the damage is moderate, I’m assuming x ray will be fine but what can be done? As it feels like they aren’t doing anything. They want to tackle reflux but this is past damage so seems pointless? Considering pain has happened.
