Hi everybody,

I may be posting in the wrong section so pls feel free to point me elsewhere.

The reason I am posting is that I am wanting to hear other peoples experience of dentures?

to cut a long story short, I already have a partial on the top. I have serious bone loss which I am having treatment for. I have spent a fortune on my teeth and am currently having a new metal partial made due to more tooth loss.

My front two teeth have veneers (one is cracked) and are both root canalled. One has started throbbing gently most of the time and this throws me into a panic attack every time it begins to hurt.

I'm just not sure whether to pre-empt things and have them both removed and added to my denture and if this would maybe give me more peace of mind long term, no matter how traumatic in the short term (and I know this is going to be pretty traumatic}

any experience, advice welcomed. I am a 45 yr old female.

thanks :)

Hi I would discuss this with your dentist and see what advice they give you. I think that the rct'd teeth throbbing could mean you have some infection in there but the dentist would be able to tell you if this is the case. I think before you pay out for a new set of dentures it would be wise to have the conversation with the dentist and see if the rct'd teeth could be saved or not.

Let us know how you get on and what you decide please :butterfly:

Thanks so much Carole. She is insistent the Xray of the veneer and root looks fine but I am seeing her again on Thursday so I will be a bit more insistent. I don't see how she could see an infection on an xray?

will keep you posted and thanks again for your kind response :)

When I had an infection under a rct'd tooth the infection showed up as a darker spot on the x ray. If everything is fine with the rct'd tooth it could be coming from the other teeth that are needing to be removed, referred pain. Hopefully a dentist will come along here soon for you and may be able to suggest something.

Good luck :clover::clover::clover:
