Have some questions on dentures. I'am insulin dependabt diabetic. Had my upper teeth taken out today and new dentures placed in. Doctor said to leave in for 24 hours. He also gave me the following medication Clindamycin and also Codeine 30 Acetaminophen and chlorhexidine gluconate mouth rince. He said to rince 4 times a day and to take the other medication every four hours and clindamycin two pills three times a day. Is there any special thing I need to know about what I'am doing. Being diabetic I was wondering about special problems I may have. I can be reached at the following

Your own dentist knows you and your mouth a lot better than we do, so I'd just go along with their recommendations. The Codeine/Acetominophen is a strongish pain med, you can taper that off if you're not in any pain. By taper off I mean either cut the dose down or increase the interval between doses, gradually decreasing to none over a couple of days.
