Hi

Is there any difference in getting a filling for the first time versus getting it redone a second time? Does it take longer? Are there any risks associated with it?

Hi kittykat,
Speaking as someone who has had the same filling redone twice I can tell you it feels no different than the first time. It may even take less time and less drilling because the composite comes away easier and more in one piece than tooth decay. Everytime you redo a filling you are taking away a little more of the tooth structure and putting the tooth's integrity at some degree of compromise but if it really needs to be replaced there are more risks associated with leaving it alone.

:goodpost: I agree :) what kitkat says. I just had one done today that had a filling in it, I don't think it feel much different. Although it is a lot of years since I had a filling in a tooth that doesn't already have one in. :butterfly:
