Do composite fillings and amalgam show up the same on xrays?

I was wondering does a composite filling and an amalgam filling show up the same on an X-ray? I ask because I had a dental crown done after a root canal and usually they have to fill your tooth up with something before a crown is placed on top right?

Do they both show up as bright spots on an X-ray?
