I have an appt. to replace a molar crown on Thursday, there is a space between the gum and my crown, i only had it done 5 years ago and thought i wouldn't need it replaced for many years, i have no dental coverage so it's going to cost me $1400 this time! I am not happy that i have to go through this process again, worried most about getting the old one off, but i also don't want to get an infection or need a root canal too (more money/pain). Is there not a filling they can place in this space instead of me going through all this cost and time in the dental chair? I can do a filling, i'm just not sure i can go through with this all again soo soon, it was soo much the first time. what causes a space? it is a gum issue or something else?
