If cutting the gum is the only way to remove a retained root with only a tiny bit of tooth above gum........?
And
What a posterior compound filling entails?

I am facing into further treatments.....and stress! So if anyone can tell me anything about these treatments.....how intrusive, uncomfortable, how long etc I would be really grateful. Thank you. Annica

I've had several teeth removed which fitted that description. In no case was it necessary to cut the gum, or not that I remember.

Thank you for replying.......I just wonder how the root can be extracted if there's virtually nothing to get hold of.
