Does fatigue really last up to two weeks after a wisdom tooth extraction?

Hi everyone,

I want to hear about your experiences with wisdom tooth extraction recovery—how long it took and how you felt afterward. I’m not here for medical advice, just curious about different recovery timelines.

I had my second wisdom tooth extracted last Friday, so today marks day 10. I’m surprised that I’m still experiencing a lot of fatigue. Sometimes, it even makes me feel a bit lightheaded. I’ve been sleeping a lot over the past week.

A few years ago, I had my first wisdom tooth extracted, and I remember the fatigue lasting about a week before I felt back to normal.

I always thought recovery fatigue lasted around five days for most people, but my friends and family say it’s normal to feel this way. I’ve also read some Reddit posts where some people recovered in a week, while others said it took up to two weeks.

For reassurance, I’ve been monitoring my vitals: my heart rate looks normal on the Heart app via my Apple Watch, my oxygen levels are fine with a fingertip pulse oximeter, and my blood pressure is normal when checked with a machine (the kind nurses use on your arm).

I do understand that dentists say fatigue is normal because oral surgery—like other types of surgery—requires a few weeks for full recovery.

What about you guys? How long did it take for you to feel better?
