I also had a heavy jaw and a fever. Shooting pain and blood taste in mouth that morning. I also had a sore back that morning.

Sounds more like a tooth related problem to me. I suggest seeing a dentist this weekend.

I woke up with severe jaw pain. My right side of My face swollen and numb.

So sorry to hear that :(. Are the medical team and your doctors are aware of the swelling and the pain? Is your heart valve repair surgery still scheduled for tomorrow?

Yes. I told them all about it. Swelling is down for now. Yep surgery is still on for tomorrow.

Excellent. Keeping my fingers crossed for you for tomorrow !

They are willing to bring in a dentist to do a emergency extraction if thats what I want. Should I? They know what tooth is the problem.

It sounds like the dental office is really giving you great service. Don’t rush to an extraction. First you need a diagnose.

If I am remembering correctly, he is getting all teeth extracted for dentures in May. So would it matter to get an infected one out early? I am asking you, because I do not have the knowledge to answer the question myself.

Travie87, correct me if I am wrong on that, and you are only getting partial dentures.

Ask the medical team and the dentist (if possible) for advice. This sounds pretty complex so get the specialists to advise on the best course of action! (unfortunately @Gordon who‘s a bit of an expert in this field probably won’t be around until tomorrow)

Thank you, I was not aware of that.

I am gonna need full dentures. Both uppers and bottom plates. I have 2 molars out of 8 left. The infected tooth is a amagalm filled molar. They gotta extract it very carefully. They might could save it but honestly I just want the abcessed molar out of My mouth. Looks like surgery is postponed til at least friday.

That is good news :)! It's good that they're being careful and looking at all your health issues. Keep us updated!

Get it out ASAP before the surgery. You don't want an infected molar dumping bacteria into your nice new heart valves!

All the best wishes, Travie, hope all goes well with your surgery and the extraction.:clover: Keep us posted

The Dentist came to the hospital and pulled the tooth. He did a alveoplasty to smooth the bone in the area where the bad molar was at.

Well done Travis :you-rock:
