Hi. This is my second post. Next Tuesday I am going for my consultation with a Endodontist about having a route canal on my second Molar but I am beginning to wonder If I should schedule an appointment with a private dentist as the price is tremendously high. £120 for a consultation, possibly £769 for the root canal, plus X-rays at £40 or £50 and then another£769 for a crown.
Is a specialist necessary? Ideally I want to save the tooth as I've already lost the 2nd Premolar and 1st molar on the bottom left jaw, but the price is just so high. I am not sure if I should return to my dentist and ask to be referred as an NHS patient as I've been pain free for the last couple of days after having issues with a suspected abscess which didn't show on X-ray, no swelling, no leaking pus, just pain.
