was just wondering if a root filled tooth extraction is just as straight forward as a normal extraction?

I have had the root canal for about 6 years and have never felt comfortable with it.
Every winter it becomes very sensitive so I considered extraction and after reading some of the "Root Canal Cover-Up" book I have made my mind up.

There is no "cover-up" - Price's (staggeringly important, if they were true) findings from the beginning of the 20th century have never been replicated in recent history.

In a nutshell, extrations of root treated teeth are slightly more difficult than non-root treated. The RCT tends to weaken the roots slightly and makes the tooth more brittle, so they can be more like to break up as one extracts them. Overall though it's not that significant.

Have a read at www.quackwatch.com regarding your second paragraph :D
