I am really starting to get depressed and feel like I could genuinely lose my mind over my teeth and that is so upsetting. I just had my #14 extracted after having 2 infections in less than a year. The tooth had a root canal done on it years back and never got a crown placed on it. It was retreated and that failed again 7 months later. Today I am 12 days post op from the extraction, bone graft, and immediate implant. I am on my 3rd round of antibiotics in less than a month and that’s because on day 9 of the healing process I started to have a weird taste in my mouth and some mild swelling. The dentist called in that 3rd round of antibiotics but I’m just so worried that it’s going to continue to get infected over time. I don’t want to keep calling and bugging them because I feel like I have been asking so many questions as is and they prob think I’m crazy I should also note that the gums around the area feel somewhat numb? Like when I press my nail on it and when I press my nail on the other side of my mouth the feelings are different. I haven’t really had any pain but there is a taste and some swelling. On top of this, when I went to the dentist to get checked (new dentist because the old one wasn’t being helpful) they mentioned all the other what felt like a million problems going on in my mouth, but insurance is maxed out for the year due to the retreatment and crown earlier this year and now the extraction, bone graft, and implant. So I’m worried my other teeth are going to end up in as bad shape as this one did. I guess I’m just looking for any hope or positive experiences? I’m feeling so upset tonight. Pictures for reference.
