Extraction necassery before root canal?

I have a molar who needs to be extracted and next to it a root canal. I have fear for root canal but i think i can make it if the dentist is helpful. If i can do that maybe i can do extraction with the gained trust. Besides that root canal will save the molar and extraction is already a lost cause. But the last dentist (yelling blameing one so i dont go back there) said she dont will do the root canal before i did the extraction plus one month after. What is True? I really want to do the root canal first

Sorry, I've no idea why they want to do it that way. It really doesn't matter which way round you do it.
