extractions+dentures=facial swelling

36 hours ago I had top teeth pulled and dentures immediately put in...I was so tramatized by the time I arrived home I overlooked the instructions about putting ice on. The entire area around my nose and upper lip are VERY noticeably swelled now. I have 17 hours before I have to be at work...is there anything I can now do to reduce the swelling?? (I went to a all in one day extractions + denture clinic.)

Ice and sit up. Laying down will cause more swelling. Now you need time. Maximum swelling occurs about 48 hours after surgery. Immediates are a difficult transition. Good luck
