I can’t believe I’m posting in this section of the forum! You can read my previous posts for full details but my journey started by going to the dentist in February because a molar literally fell out. Otherwise I wouldn’t have gone! I hadn’t been since I was about 14, in now 39.

Fast forward to yesterday and the first part of my treatment plan - a deep clean and three extractions - one wisdom tooth, one top molar that has broken in half, and the bottom molar that had already fallen out but the root was still there.

I had a panic attack, didn’t think I could go through with it. I am extremely phobic. It didn’t help that the headphones I took didn’t work! But they asked what I wanted to listen to and put Taylor Swift on for me!

The last thing I remember is them telling me that they were going to put the magic medicine into me and that it may feel cold. And then I told them I didn’t feel any different. Looked at the clock and it was 10:40.

Next thing I know it’s 12:40 and I’m asking him if it’s done yet. He said it was and I didn’t believe him! I apparently was awake the whole time but I can’t remember at all! It’s so weird!!

They said I was chatting away at them about Taylor Swift and even made them bring my boyfriend in during it to take me to the toilet, even though I had blood coming from my mouth and a needle in my arm! And I told the dentist that it must be hard for him because everyone hates him!

Today I am terrified of dislodging the blood clots. I’m scared to eat or drink or even move. Because last night I coughed and a garden pea sized clot came flying out of my mouth. Now im scared of dry socket. I phoned the dentist and he said that it’s nothing to worry about but I am scared anyway.

But can’t believe I’ve had it done. On to fillings now. 15 of them with no sedation (as I can’t afford it!). I’ll keep you all updated on them but honestly if you’re getting sedation and extractions you will be fine! I hope this helps someone.

That's fantastic news @4432paula, congratulations on your success 🎉!! Sounds like you did amazingly well - wishing you a very speedy recovery and please do keep us updated!
