Hey fellow phobs! I had a root canal on my eyetooth 2 days ago, and now if I press on my skin next to my nostril, I can feel a sharp pain! Is is just healing or should I be freakin out? ??

Eyetooth root canal. Facial pain?

I wouldn't freak out, but I had pain in that area for months after a root canal on an eye tooth. It just took a long, long time to recover, and remember that roots are very deep and go up a long way from the part of the tooth that you can see. I don't know why mine hurt for so long, but if you need an answer, perhaps you should call the dentist/oral surgeon who did the procedure?

Re: Eyetooth root canal. Facial pain?

Hello Shellie,

The area you are feeling is where the end of the root is. This is where the body is healing itself. As with any type of operation, the area will be sore and tender while it heals. At only two days, we are still early in the healing process. At this early stage the symptoms are often a lot worse, so I would say it all sounds a very encouraging.

Anxiety attack post root canal pain! Help!

Omg, so I had a root canal on my eyetooth, and now I have a sharp pain in the upper gum area when I press on face next to nostril. Is it normal? Will it go away? I've called my dentist, and no one is calling me back! Help please!

Perhaps don't press on the area?

Could it be where your dentist gave you the local? If so it's probably a bit bruised and will be painful, it should settle in a day or so. I know it's hard, but try not to panic x
