Dealing with something I've never seen before...I'm absolutely terrified of dentists, so when I chipped one of my upper front teeth a few years ago & it didn't hurt, I didn't even give a thought to having it looked at (if nothing hurts, it isn't serious...). Anyhow, over the past week, I've had a steady, low-grade fever of 100-101 despite ibuprofen. I've noticed a small, red hole on my upper gum near the root of my chipped tooth that's sensitive when I brush. Over the past couple of days, there's slight redness & swelling on my right cheek (along the side of my nose) & I'm noticing a dull, throbbing ache. What's going on here? Do I need to overcome my terror & see a dentist or can I just leave it alone?
