If a filling needs to be replaced on a tooth that had a direct pulp cap done on it, does removal of that filling generally mean root canal treatment? Is there a chance that the filling could be replaced without any problems?

I wasn't expecting you to be around so soon! Thanks for that...You've just made me a very happy girl! Is this because the area can just be avoided or will new tooth have formed there over the last 5 years, like what they hope for with stepwise?
Thanks for all you do here Gordon.

There will be some new tooth formed under the pulp cap hopefully. Also if it's the same dentist doing the new filling as did the pulp cap, then they should be aware of it and can try not to disturb it too much.
