Hi guys... Had a check up before Christmas, and was told i would need a filling replaced as a bit of tooth next to the filling came out...
Previous dentist said to leave it, and if it causes issues the tooth would just have to come out...
This guy without hesitation sait he would just replace the filling, which makes perfect sence to me...
But how will they do it? Its a fair size filling... Does a filling drill? Crack? Could it bring more tooth out with it??
I left it as "ill think about it over Christmas" but honestly, i still dont know... And its starting to feel a little sensitive

Thanks

Multiple ways. Drill out a little bit of filling to give room for new filling. "Glue" in a bit of composite, drill out the entire old filling and replace it all and so forth.
It shouldn't disturb the remaining tooth.

Hi, sorry, i didnt realise my post had been moved.
Thanks for your reply, im almost certainly overthinking it but feel im going backwards again. Just wondered how 2 dentists could have such different ideas...im not in pain, but its really irritating me
To be honest, i think ill be fine once ive had the injections, but in the past ive found them really painful

Remember the old saying about skinning cats? This applies in spades to dentistry :-)
