Hi - After years of not going to the dentist, I eventually went and was told that I had advanced periodontal disease...I had a total of 5 extractions (at the back of my mouth), 3 fillings and I am now pleased to say that my mouth is back on track and my teeth look clean and my gums have started to be more pink than red...Only thing is that years of gum disease have left me with a gap between my two front bottom teeth (but I was grateful that my dentist managed to save them!)...
Would anybody be able to advise what I can do to correct this. What are my best options? Veneers? Bonding? Any help/suggestion would be appreciated. Thank you.

Orthodontics.

Ok, yes...ortho in the long term, agreed, but as a quick fix could a ~2-3mm gap be temporarily filled using composite bonding?

Many thanks,
Steve

Holy thread resurrection Batman :)

No. It would be a massive plaque trap for somebody who already has compromised periodontal health...

Good point, Gordon.

Sorry for bringing up an old post, but the OP totally mirrors my current situation.

For what it's worth, my dentist also dissuaded me from my 'quick and dirty' bonding theory. A bad idea on several levels!

Ortho it is! Thanks!

Steve
