Hey everyone, I just wanted to share my experience with getting braces as an adult and overcoming a huge fear of the dentist. I’ve been scared of anything dental since I was a kid. I used to dread regular cleanings, so braces were never an option in my mind. I’m 25 now, and I decided it was time to do something about my crooked teeth.
I ended up choosing Rocky Point Orthodontics for my treatment. Honestly, making that first call was the hardest part—I was sweating the whole time. But the staff there was super nice, and they never made me feel bad for being nervous or for waiting so long to start.
My first visit was way less scary than I thought it would be. The orthodontist explained everything about how braces work and how long I’d need them. That really helped calm me down because I realized it’s not some mysterious, painful process—it’s just a step-by-step way to fix your teeth.
Now I’ve been wearing braces for a few months, and while they can be uncomfortable at times, I’m already seeing changes. More importantly, I feel so much better knowing I finally faced my fear. If you’ve been putting off getting braces or any dental treatment because of anxiety, trust me, I get it. But it really can be easier once you find a place that understands how to help!
Thank you all!
