I am really nervous, but it's my own fault for letting my teeth go. I don't want to go and get my teeth pulled. I really don't want to do it but I know I have too.

Bandit.

How are you doing? When do you go and get this done? You are here on this forum because you are thinking of taking care of yourself and doing something to help yourself and your teeth so this is a first step . Take it step by step. You are in a community with a lot of people who have a whole lot of fears, anxieties, regrets , shame, myself included. I have no natural teeth left . only crowns and dentures.. but.. I like you have decided that even though fear may come.. I'm going to start today..and that can make a difference for tomorrow.. one step at a time. and there are lots of us with dentures/partials on here to help you .

have you considered an overdenture?

Comfortdentist, Can you explain the difference between a denture and overdenture? I hear this term quite often overdenture.

I'm ok, trying too not even think about it because I don't want too, my husband is getting upper dentures and has hardly any teeth on top as it it, has 3 teeth pulled and is going to go have a impression done this coming week, the molding. He can't wait. I am dreading it so much, I am really scared and hoping this is the right thing to do. I don't even want too talk about it. I never thought I would get dentures and told my husband there is no way I want that.

May 22nd, I am going to go get 3 teeth pulled and over a course of time getting it done, it's not cheap

I just had 23 teeth pulled and full upper and full lower dentures put in 9 days ago :-) if you want brutal truth with no unicorns and rainbows talk. I’ll tell you my experience for this first week.

basically it looks just like a denture except that you save a couple of roots and place little snaps in them to hold the denture in.
I just did one as a transition for my patient. She is going from teeth to implant supported fixed teeth but due to her needs she needs to have a complete lower denture for awhile. Instead of suffering with it I saved two of her roots and placed locators in them. She recently said she thought that was a great idea as she is more comfortable on the bottom than the top.
