Gum Charting - Gingivitis & Periodontitis

During gum charting can a patient go from 2-3mm to 4-5mm in 6-mos time? I use an electric toothbrush, floss 1-2x daily, and do all 6-mos cleanings.

Possibly... is this the same operator doing the measuring? If you think about it, being able to tell a 1mm difference in not great light in the back of somebody's mouth is not easy. 2 different people doing the measuring could easily give this result.
