Hi I’m having osseous surgery on all four quadrants of my teeth and my bottom teeth have significant bone loss than my others.
Does it look like it requires bone graft too?
My periodontist said it doesn’t because with just osseous surgery it will help and keeping up with cleaning every 4 month.E18039D8-F7EF-44CB-A445-BDBE3C0F3134.png

Hi Patsyp,

An x-ray is helpful but in such a situation we only get a full picture from taking all the information from around the mouth and our clinical assessment.

I would trust the diagnosis and management strategy of your periodontist as they are specialists in this area.

What I do know is that the vast majority of cases like this will be managed without the need for bone grafts.

After the surgery, treatment the key will be regular maintenance - both by your dentist/ periodontist/ hygienist and most importantly by yourself day to day with your effective cleaning. That’s what gives the best chance of success.

All the best with it,
Niall
