Gum inflammation/sensitivity - Wisdom Tooth Extraction

My top right wisdom tooth is erupting. The gums in the area are very sore; even i touch with a toothbrush it's still very sensitive. As a result I have ear and headaches in that area.

My question - can I still get that wisdom tooth extracted? Is it at risk for infection or excess bleeding if that gum area is already in bad shape.

Is there any way to reduce inflammation or clean that tooth/gum area?

The gums in that area are probably sore because the tooth is trying to come through, not necessarily because they're infected (which they could be - only a dentist will be able to tell you for sure). You should still be able to get that tooth extracted, but it really depends on the preference of your dentist/oral surgeon.

Best of luck!
