I have suffered with a great phobia of going to the dentist since I was little , and was not encouraged to go to the dentist frequently by my parents who were equally scared of the dentist too !

I now have a very bad case of receding gums above one of my front teeth . You can almost see the root . I just noticed how bad it looks , which makes me incredibly anxious . I did some research this eve , and saw that you can have gum surgery done - pinhole gum recession surgery? How much would this cost for one tooth , and is it a long complicated procedure? There are so many clinics too , and I just don't know who to contact . My own dentist surgery doesn't offer this type of treatment.

It needs to be done by a specialist periodontist. Your dentist may have one they can recommend.

Can't answer your other questions, too many "it depends" I'm afraid :(
