For a little while now I’ve been getting a lot of pressure in my gums (more so when I wake up). It seems to be getting worse every day. It is to the point where I don’t even want to sleep anymore. I woke up from a nap today and my gums were throbbing which put me into a panic. I’m really struggling and need relief. My wisdom teeth have been bothering me for months. I’m waiting on my extraction appointment which is at the end of this month. Due to the discomfort in my mouth I’ve been afraid to even brush so I’m getting a lot of plaque build up. I’m sure this is contributing to the pain/discomfort in my gums. I wish I could just bring myself to brush my teeth but they are so sensitive I’m afraid to. I’m terrified that my teeth will become loose or fall out if I brush them. I’ve had this unrealistic fear for the longest time but I can’t get it out of my head and it’s preventing me from brushing and taking care of my teeth. I’m at a loss. Anyone have any advice?

Hi @Anxiety Riddled, do you know for sure that the fear (of your teeth becoming loose or falling out when brushing your teeth) is unrealistic? Or is it something that you think could actually happen?

In my mind I think my teeth are loose and will fall out. I don’t believe they are actually loose but then again I’ve gotten to the point where I won’t even look in my mouth or even in the mirror in general for that matter.
