Had wisdom tooth removed Tuesday..scared of getting dry socket

I just had my lower left wisdom tooth extracted Tuesday and am scares of getting a dry socket.I have not smoked since then and followed dentist orders but still have a pain in the extraction site.jaw is also sore but I'm more worried about the pain in the site if the procedure.

As long as you don't smoke or drink through a straw (do nothing that involves sucking on anything) you should be fine. You would know of you had a dry socket, it would be excruciating pain.
