I received a top hard nightguard about 3 months ago. Ive been trying to wear it. Ive had some concerns over it. One major concern is since its bulky on the top it touches my lower teeth. I have a lower tooth that was slightly crooked. But i am panicking that it could have shifted more these few months ive worn the guard. Im likely panicking. He did alot of adjusting in the guard before giving to me.. but i dont wear it daily. I set it aside because i have a temporary upper stayplate i can barely handle during the day. Im getting my new partials next month made so im hoping maybe more ahead i can wear guard every now and then. Although since i wear top and lower partials, mostly the top one during the day, i prefer nothing on top at night to rest as the guard also makes my gums sore. So i have set it aside. Its whatever i can handle, however i am happier..and.i feel better resting my top fully at night. Next apt i want to clarify if theres any risks of the bottom teeth it touches of.shifting since theres slight pressure on them but the part it touches is very smooth and the guard fits,.but isnt super super tight either. When i shift my teeth with guard on, guard slightly moved very little but is snug enough to not come off. The guard fit more tightly but he took off some hole bubbles in the back by smoothing it off a bit, which made the fit tight. My concern is of any risk of the bottom teeth moving due to pressure, i doubt my doctor would make something that would do that. I do have that slight crooked tooth, but i dont want it to get any worse. Ive set night guard aside and will definitely ask these questions next apt Sept 12. I was also thinking more ahead to ask my doc if theres some kind of treatment to straighten that tooth if it shifts more with time. Invisalign likely. I need peace of mind! Please reassure im likely panicking i have severe dental trauma from all ive been though in the past with my teeth. I see a problem where there might be none and i get anxiety and panic attacks. Thanks they already reassured my lower teeth wont get damaged from the slight pressure and bone loss unlikely as well. I hope im just panicking! He has to adjust the bite of this one and my temporary upper plate to match the new lower theyre making me so maybe he can make sure the bite is all even and the pressure on the lower teeth is safe enough to not cause any shifting or other problems. Praying my apt comes fast. Please reassure thanks
