Hey

So my pain is getting a lot worse. I am supposed to go see the oral surgeon on Feb. 28th. Yesterday the pressure spot on the top left side of my head flared up really bad. I have pain running from that pressure spot, down my head into my jaw. The pain then goes into my left ear and through my entire jaw to my chin, down my neck and into my shoulder, shoulder blade & arm. Is this a sign of infection? I don't know what to do anymore. Should I call a doctor or the oral surgeon to see if I can get in sooner? Or does this sound like TMJ? I'm so scared I dont know what to do or what will happen. :scared:

Last summer I had the almost the very same exact symptoms on a molar. Two days before we were leaving for vacation! I had very dull pains here & there for a long time (the molar was broken) but one day I thought I was going to fall flat on my face the pain stopped me in my tracks. I never experienced that kind of pain before, I was shaking & couldn't even scream.

Anyhow, it got worse & that's what prompted me to call a dentist that day (hadn't been to one in years, obviously). The pain went down as far as my lower neck though. When I saw the dentist they gave me 2 choices, to extract or root canal. Once the specialist saw it (they have one in the office) she said we can't save it. The infection had gotten so big the tooth was mobile. They didn't even wait to pull it (normally you'd go on antiotics before it would get pulled). They pulled it that day then I went on 2 different antibiotics because we were leaving for vacation & she didn't want to take a chance that the infection would spread.

My advice: Get in before the 28th or at the very least get on antibiotics NOW. Please don't wait on this. Infections can spread so easily.

I'd get it checked. When does the pain come on? After excercise? (sounds like a stupid question I know) You may well have been gringing your wee teeth and have muscle spasms. Wouldn't really know unless I saw you i'm afraid. So get it checked :)
