Help!!! Root Canal May Not Have Been Successful

I really don't know what to do. I had a root canal done on the lower right molar - it involved three roots. The tooth was taking forever to settle down and when I went back to see the dentist for the final cementing of the crown, I told her the tooth was still bothering me. Now it has been about a month and the tooth is starting to really bother me. The dentist does not believe that she may have missed something and can only offer to send me to a specialist. My dental coverage wants her to submit a plan of treatment before any work is to be done and I don't know if I will be able to wait that long. I need some help now!!! I am forcing myself to go to work in pain. It can't be the tooth next to it because it was root canaled some time ago. I still think the dentist missed something in the tooth. Could there be another root? My other tooth involved four roots. Could she have missed a root? I need some advice.

Still hurting!!!!!

Sorry, can't help much without x-rays. Going by what you've said so far, I'd go back and ask for the referral to the specialist.

I am going to the dentist tomorrow.  I hope the dentist can figure out what is wrong with my tooth without sending me to the specialist.  There just seems to be a constant dull ache.  I wish it would go away.  This has been a miserable week.
