Hello, I’m sorry to post this here but I just wanted a quick answer if possible. I have a short upper lip and when I’ve got my retainer in at night my lips open. I don’t actually breathe through my mouth but the gum above one of my front teeth gets a bit irritated and can bleed a tiny bit from it. Is there anything I can do that is safe to stop this? Would Vaseline be a good idea or could this damage my gum over time? Any answer would be very much appreciated :)

Vaseline is the suggested treatment. It won't damage your gum, quite the reverse.

Great thanks Gordon :)
