Hi there. I took a big step and finally got my root canal! It wasn't a big deal once i got over the numbing agent that made my heart beat kind of hard and fast, went away after five minutes.

After a root canal, how long do i have until i see a dentist for a temp crown?

Also can someone please explain what will be the steps taken during a temp crown procedure? It's easier than the root canal? Thanks!

If you can manage it, about 1-2 weeks would be good. Long enough to make sure the root canal is OK but soon enough to prevent further damage to the tooth.

Steps for a temp crown will vary wildly depending on what tooth and the dentist's preferences. Compared to your root canal though, you'll find it dead easy!

@Gordon Thank you Gordon for your help and service! It would be my molar 19. Thank you! Now that i've gone through the root canal, getting a temp crown should be easier. I know what helped me was keeping my eyes closed, reminding myself that the 'scary' symptoms are temporary and that the visit isn't long and is done to help me from future pain.

@Gordon Awesome!! :) Thank you! Oh last thing sorry, should i expect another shot to numb my area for crown? Or since it's dead nerves they dont do that?

Probably not. I'd need to see you to be definite but not likely.
