how long can i wear a temporary crown?

Due to my dentist finding a crack on my molar and messing up with crown preps., I have been wearing a temp. crown for 3 weeks already, i am waiting to get it extracted by an oral surgeon- going for my consult this upcoming Monday but may not be able to get this tooth out for 1-4 wees depending on when i can get an appt., is this okay? I am trying to clean well around it but have noticed a red/black mark at the top of crown but no pain. what can i do to make sure this crown will be okay for wearing it that long?

Temporary crowns can last for months so you should be just fine

okay, thanks, i hope i can get it off soon, it's starting to bother me knowing it is there.
