I had pretty bad depression in my teens and preteens that led to very poor dental hygiene. I would always do better for a little bit after the appointments but would get worse again.
The last time I had like 12 cavity's that needed filled (I also have acid reflux so it makes it worse) they worked on the backs on either sides first and they were really sensitive and it was hard to eat or drink anything that wasn't room temp or wasn't soft, then at the end of my second to last appointment (my last one was for a final cavity on my front tooth) my dentist said "Yeah, that one's really gonna hurt cus we're going to have the get the numbing really deep." I'd never been scared of the dentist before that but i ended up canceling the appointment. I now have one on wednesday that I made with a different dentist and I keep having nightmares about it and keep trying to get the people around me to agree that I should cancel it. Logically I know I need to because now I'm having pain but I'm just scared.
sorry if this is rambly.
