I'm sorry if this isn't the right place to post this but I'm looking for support. I've recently gone back to a dentist after almost 10 years! I didn't cry but I was very anxious, I've had several fillings done over the last few months and I'm proud of myself. However my anxiety centres around thinking my teeth are going to fall out, I know it sounds stupid but I just want to overcome it.

Hi :welcome: to the forum.

I and plenty of others have had this same worry, it is terrible to feel this way. It effects everything you do in everyday life. I still won't eat certain things because I won't risk my teeth. This includes the nice crusty bread that everyone enjoys.

You are in the right place and you are not alone anymore we are very good at giving support and comfort when needed. It is not stupid it is how you feel. I think when we are anxious these thoughts seem to take over more of our minds, but it does get easier and we don't worry all the time as much. Continue to see your dentist and as you build up a trust with them things will be a lot easier.

I think you have done really well getting the fillings you needed, it was a massive thing to do and took a lot of courage. You should be really pleased with yourself :yayy::star::star::star::perfect::butterfly:

Thank you :) I have never had a problem until I started seeing dentists again. I just want to know that everything will be ok and I'm worrying over nothing. No dentist I've seen has said my teeth were in bad condition although the amount of fillings I've had leads me to believe that may not be true, I have always brushed twice a day so it's not like I have neglected them :(

I'm more sad that I had so many fillings done, but I did neglect to visit dentists for 10 years so perhaps they could've been prevented, oh well. At least I'll get a good 5-10 years out of my fillings :P
