Hi,
I'm new on here and I'm terrified because I recently went to a new dentist after not going to a dentist for 5 years since before Covid, I used to go every 6 months for a cleaning and checkup, and my X ray shows the tooth I got root canal on 33! years ago is now infected!
I had no cavities though, I used to be really prone to cavities all through my childhood until my mid 30's and then I hadn't had any cavities until 14 years later because an old filling had worn out and I had a very deep cavity and it still hurts slightly to chew on this tooth 9 years later, this tooth probably should have had root canal.
I have no idea how long this infection has been going on, but I had some aches off and on on the left side of my teeth, but I thought it was due to the left side of my jaw clicking which my father and sister have had too, but this year mine has gotten worse, and also because I have been grinding my teethin my sleep due to upsets, stress and anxiety off and on since I was in my teens and 20's and my former dentists knew I was doing this and I sometimes would have tooth aches but I had no cavities.
I didn't feel anything during that root canal or the very deep cavity because I asked and got 3 novocaine injections, but it's still terrifying! If anyone can offer any support I really would appreciate it.
Thank You
