I'm just looking for help getting through the pain of the shot. Is there a dentist that accepts state aid and allows for out of pocket pay for iv sedation in NYC?? I am desperately searching.

ask for numbing gel first. that's what they did for my deep cleaning. I did still feel the pokes for the local numbing but it wasn't that bad. I mean there was like 1 that felt a little worse but nothing that I couldn't handle and I hate needles!

Safe bet that'll be the same case when I get numbed for all my work tomorrow.

Ask for Triazolam oral sedation. You only need like two pills of .25 mg and the med has been around long enough to get a generic. The scrip should cost very little to fill even completely out of pocket. I think in Canada less than 10.00 CDN!

It's weird how it works actually... when you take it and when you walk into the office, you will think you are still totally coherent and you can talk and respond to commands easily.

Thing is, later on, it will erase all (or nearly all) memory of the event!!!! You won't remember the procedure or getting home after (so you will still need someone to escort you home).

I am a HUGE phobic of the needle because I usually have very serious post op pain from it. My body reacts to it badly... and Triazolam gets me through the pain of the injection and then I don't really remember much from it...
