Im afraid i messed up my teeth and im really scared for the consequences itll have to me. I had a premolar wrongfully extracted as a child, it was an adult tooth which left me without my bottom left premolar for a long time. I started braces because i had a canine come down but there was no room so it was just staying above my upper right premolar. I started treatment since 17, they started with an pallate expander for about a year, they then told me to get the premolar next to the canine extracted to make space for it, being pressured by them i did so, so i had at that point 2 missing premolars, and then got the opposing ones to balance the bite, but i feel really stupid because from all that ive learned , i shouldve told them to further expand my arches and then open the space for an implant so i remove none. I feel so stupid listening to them and violated and now all i can do is sit with it and suffer the consequences, furthermore i already had flared teeth and an overbite 9mm, please can i get some help or reassurance. Really worried about a recessed face, bad airways, retraction. The image attached was the start of my treatment, i havent had another one taken yet, but perhaps that could provide some help.

What is it you're asking?

@Gordon just want to know whether these extractions will recess my face and impact me negatively? And whether what i did was the right choice. And is there anything i can do to give me the best outcome for my teeth and health.

No they won't.

Going by the photos, it was the correct thing to do. Opening up the arch enough to accommodate that canine would have been very difficult and would have left you with some major TMJ issues.

@Gordon thats a relief, thank you so much, i was really stressing out about it especially with the amount of people who talk about their face appearing sunken and recessed.

That's a specific problem related to a Class 2 malocclusion, which you don't have... you're a Class 1 and not a very severe one.

@Gordon i do also have an overbite and flared teeth, ive got photos of my bite taken myself, perhaps thatll clearly tell you what class bite i have?

Already said, you're a Class 1. Your overbite doesn't look particularly severe.

Alright, thanks alot :)
