Implant dentures

Hi just wondering if you have any advice on implant dentures. I was at the dental surgery this morning for the nurse to check extraction site and she said my bottom teeth are in a terrible state and they had a new dentist at the surgery specialising in implants and dentures and I could speak to him if I wanted. I felt she was being pushy so said not today. I Googled them and not sure I can afford them we barely get by as it is and dental treatment is so so expensive here in Ireland. On the plus side my husband said he was very proud of me because I didn't cry.... I can't believe it either but it might have something to to with some drops a friend gave me passion flower. Made me feel nauseous but calmer that usual. Imagine 37 and I need someone to bring me to the dentist sometimes I feel stupid...any way off point there should I look into these dental implants more it would mean having the 8 remaining teeth on the bottom taken out but nurse seemed to think they were on the way out any way..

In general as I haven't done an examination on you:
In order to keep teeth the longest when you have gum disease:
1. Don't smoke
2. Brush and floss or if big gaps use a proxabrush
3. Get a good professional cleaning every 3 months. Not a quickie

When you have to remove your remaining lower teeth. You are young in my office I would insist on at least 2 implants with an overdenture. The difference is temendous

Hi klb, This morning I had the remaining six upper teeth removed and socket preservation all for future mini implant supported dentures. My dentist placed an immediate upper denture. I will have the lower seven teeth removed on the 26th and socket preservation. I will have to wear the immediate denture during the healing process. Once healed I will have six mini implants on top and four on bottom to hold dentures in place. Mini Implants are about half or more the price of regular sized implants. For me it was the best choice.
