Hi all...

I've been reading through alot of the posts on implant placement and I must say that I am pleased to see how well this procedure has been tolerated by most of you. I've put off my implant for some time now but I'm going to have the extraction and the metal implant placed on the same day. My dentist has told me that the entire appointment will be one hour. He also told me the extraction part will be quite quick. And many of the posts here say that the drilling for the post is not very long.

So I'm eager to understand exactly what will take the full hour. Any insight and reassurance you all can provide would be most appreciated. By the way, I will be doing this with local anesthesia only (my preference is for sedation by my dentist doesn't offer it). :(

I had two extractions, canine, and implants put in immediately, I guess it's easier cuz it slips right in, I don't even remember any drilling. It's been almost three months now and I'm in the waiting phase, looking forward to my new smile

@annacelata thank you. That’s reassuring. Now if I can just figure out how to manage the anxiety to cope with the numbing, the noise and the time in the chair, I’ll be good to go. I’m scheduled for next Wednesday, 7/17. Yikes!

Maybe music? Ear pods?
