I have a case of internal resorption in #19 that has proressed far enough for my endodontist to call it a hopeless case. I am inclined to agree, since the tooth is turning dark in color, and a bad taste emerges from it every now and then (similar to garlic breath).
I have an extraction scheduled for next Thursday, but I am concerned about making it that long before the tooth breaks. Does the bad taste indicate infection? It kind of tastes like what I imagine a rotting tooth would taste like. Should I be on antibiotics before the extraction?
