I was diagnosed with two cracked 1st molars (both bottom, opposite sides) last week.
Neither one hurt except when chewing, but had increased sensitivity.
After the bite test in the dentists office last week, the right lower molar has been aching constantly, with occasional jabs of pain. The pain isn't horrible...kind of like a headache. The occasional jabs bother me, but they decreased today. The jabs come mostly with leaning over, or laying down.
Could testing the tooth have caused the aching? I have an appointment Tuesday to get an implant put in next to this tooth, so if it is the nerve, will that impact the implant if the tooth is infected now?
If it is a nerve issue, I am getting it extracted. I cannot do another root canal, after both of mine failed. If I lose the tooth, I will have no molars at all on the lower right until I get the implant crown late summer.
Why am I losing so many teeth? (I know this one can't be answered) it is just frustrating because my teeth were fine until last summer and now I have already lost two molars, and the front tooth is still in limbo.
