Long story short I had work done on my teeth before costed a lot of $ which in the end i got told did not need doing and now i struggle to trust dentists

Had my upper left 5 root canal Thursday but in past 24 hours been having throbving pain in gums swelling and painful to tap on tooth next to it upper left 6 this is the x ray he said where he’s mouse cusor was where the infection is above the 6 the tooth next to the root canal filling does this look right to you guys.the number 6 hurts to tap on also. As I had to go private for this and costed a lot of money. I also got to have this upper left 6 root canal on Tuesday would I still be able to have it done ??

I am just concered that its not an infection and hes just wanted to make ££ out of me cause I dno what im looking at i thought id see if any dentists can confirm this is indeed an infection

Pain, hurts to tap on, shadow on the x-ray, all would point to that being an infection. No reason it can't get treated on Tuesday.

@Gordon Thanks for your reply and yeah swelling is getting worse now, the gums above the tooth are rock hard and swollen also, hurts to tap on that tooth. its SO much worse lying in bed. Im just worried they wont go ahead with the root canal cause theres an infection. Its getting unbearable now.

Should be possible to at least get started with the RCT, best way to clear the infection quickly.

@Gordon Yeah today is 3rd day of antibodics tomorrow when i go will be the 4th day, Im just concered they wont get me numb cause of the infection,

It should be OK, upper teeth are usually easier to get numb in these cases.

@Gordon
It was all done today in 2 1/2 hour appointment thank you for your advise

@Gordon

Had root canal done 6 hours ago

Is it normal to still have pains and when biting down and tapping still hurts?
