I had an infected root canal extracted back in March. It was after a root canal retreatment and failed apicoectomy. However, over 6 months later from the extraction, the gum where the fistula was still hasn't returned to normal. It has a whitish color when I look at it with a flashlight.
I am worried this could be a part of the root canal material left behind or a sign the infection is still there at a low level. Have you ever seen this kind of gum tissue before? What could it be?
I'm super nervous about it. I've attached a picture of the area now :S
