never had this before.. she said the tops were zero and the worst at the bottom was a 2, is this ok?? what does the scale go to and from in the uK?? she also felt around my jaw and my joint making me open and close my mouth, that has never happened before either.. is it something (esle) for me to worry about??? x

anything 3 or below is normal and healthy, good for you!
4 is a warning 5 and up is gum disease

oh good, thank you.. I was frightened to ask.. I just wanted to get out of there while the going seamed good.. x

No it isn't.

Zero is completely healthy. 1 is bleeding on probing which indicates some gingivitis, 2 is a little bit of calculus (tartar), not much to worry much about but should be re-evaluated later on. 3 and above is becoming a bit more of a problem, since that indicates bone loss and pocket formation.

I thought she was talking about pocket depth?

oh I have no idea... no pne said I should be doing anything about it?? should I?? x

It's more likely to be a CPITN index, (Google time!).

You should be looking at improving your brushing and flossing, as I assume the dentist has mentioned it?
