This morning I had my check up appointment, which I thought it was with my hygienist. For my surprise it was the appointment to measure again the deep of my pockets. (I have periodontal disease). Well there is a lot improvement but my molars are still 7s, its really better than before but still hight numbers! The rest show 3,2 and even 1’s some measures 4’s. I was a little disappointed, sad, hopeless ... but I know this is a long journey after 20 years without see a dentist. what options I have: 1. Do surgery.. and clean under my gums where the deep cleaning couldn't reach. Here is the problem is $1385 per quadrant. (This is the better option) 2. Do a periodontal maintenance cleaning every 3 months and a deep cleaning every year. I don’t know what to think, what to do. If I choose cleanings every 3 months will improve or is just for stop getting worse? 3. Go to a general dentist ( at this moment Im with a periodontal specialist) and he can do a referral that I need to see my specialist and he can deal with the insurance that I have and see IF the insurance covers “something” but even with some help is still a lot money. This take 4 to 6 weeks to receive an answer from the insurance. Sorry to come here to ask but still working on my fear of talk about treatments, I feel so silly! At least I asked if there some cavities o anything else to fix, good thing zero cavities just dealing with gums disease ?.
