Nasty taste after wisdom teeth removal

So I got my wisdom teeth removed a week ago, it was honestly a traumatic experience for everyone involved, so I've been trying really hard to be careful so I don't have to go back for any problems. Starting on the 3rd day I got this awful taste from specifically the upper right side, I thought it was just because it's hard to clean my mouth right now. Since then it's become more frequent, it feels like the wound is squirting and leaking something. Usually I'd deal with it, but it's gotten to the point that I taste it every 15-30 minutes and ever time I gag and try not to throw up. I do have the dissolvable GELFOAM stuff in there if it's the taste of that dissolving. Either way I'm not sure what it is, if anyone has any answers and if there's a way to stop it.
