Hello. I am 36 and need all my teeth pulled. I cant even tell you how long its been since ive seen a dentist. Unfortunately i dont take care of my teeth. I want to start but the state they are in now, its pointless. I want to get all my teeth pulled and get dentures. The problem is i am terrified. Everytime i have been to a dentist, they would shame me for my teeth not being in very good condition. They havent gotten a lot worse in the last few years especially during my last pregnancy. I am constantly getting infections and i pretty much have no back teeth as they have worn down tremendously and have cracked/broke because of their poor condition.

How do i go about finding a dentist? More specifically, a dentist that will not shame me. I am a pretty blunt person and i will walk out if the dentist isnt empathetic. I know they will lecture me and honestlt i dont need the lecture. I hear it everyday from people how bad my teeth are. I dont need to hear it from someone who is supposed to help me.

I know how i am. I know if i have another bad experience i wont go back for years and i need this done. I want this done. Just thinking about going to a dentist is giving me severe panic attacks. I want to better myself but i am so scared.

If anyone has any advice i would love to hear it

Hi @Tooscared811, not sure if you've seen this already, but we've actually got a fairly comprehensive guide to finding a non-shaming dentist right here on our website:

It's great to hear that you've got the strength to walk out if the dentist isn't empathetic! I'm sure that sooner rather than later, you would come across an empathetic dentist who just wants to help. But it's probably a lot easier (and more cost-effective) to separate the wheat from the chaff at an early stage by making email or phone contact before even seeing them :).

Also, it's a really good idea to find someone who is not only kind and caring, but also technically very skilled. While this is pretty difficult for us as laypeople to figure out, you can find some pointers here:

Hopefully you'll find some of the info on these pages useful.

Wishing you all the best with your search 🍀
